Annual General Meeting of Regional Commissions, Committees and Desks is held on Friday, 15th April 2016 at the parish hall of Chittagong Cathedral. The event is attended by 37 members of 17 commissions, committees, desks and social organization. Vicar General of Chittagong Diocese Rev. Fr. Gordon Dias presided over the meeting.

Barisal region of Chittagong diocese is erected as a new diocese in last December. Chittagong hill tracts have been emerging as a separate pastoral region under Chittagong diocese. In this situation, all remaining 7 diocesan commissions of Chittagong are dissolved by the Bishop of Chittagong Most Rev. Moses Costa, CSC. At the same time 12 regional commissions, 1 pastoral coordinating committee and 2 desks are created to operate pastoral programs in Chittagong region consisting 4 parishes of Chittagong Cathedral, Jamalkhan, Diang and Noakhali. Diocesan Seminary Commission is created for all 11 parishes of the Diocese. The AGM is organized aiming to give orientation to newly appointed voluntary members.

The event opened by a prayer service led by PST Program Coordinator Sr. Nisha Gagra, SSMi and welcoming speech by Fr. Gordon Dias. Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator Mr. Manik Willver D’Costa presented two papers on “Diocesan Pastoral Structure” and “Objectives and Activities of the Commissions”. members is also formed to prepare draft constitutions for all the diocesan and regional commissions. After a short evaluation of the program, it came to an end by the closing speech of a member of Diocesan College of Consulters Rev. Fr. Leonard C. Rebeiro.
